Yeah, it's a short chapter compared to what I've done before, but there's a lot happening in it, so...

Note: it was written all in one big great rush, so there are some things (emotions, trains of thought) that might have seemed obvious to me at the time, but to a reader then wouldn't be. I've read it over a couple times since, but I can't be sure everything makes sense. Please please please tell me. This is only the first draft and I want it to be perfectly parfect. (but, note: some of sasuke's reasoning won't become obvious until next chapter because, well, right now he's not really reasoning much. In doubt, point it out anyway, I need to keep an eye out for those things, I'm not 100% sure it's fine!)

Yes, this is the angelempvampwolfgunslinger bringing you Thalia Grace from Percy Jackson & The Olympians. This is my first girl since Faith since Seiya was a whole other canon of worms so I'm super excited to shake up my ranks and even more super excited to be playing my second favorite badass in this series. Clarisse is my first and everyone should app her now! Also app Annabeth and Rachel Dare!

Thank you guys so much for the confidence. Sometimes you experiment with a concept and... yeah. But I've taken a solid look at the crit and am going to work extra hard to give you the best Thalia I can because I do oh so adore strong female characters. (Also, dear god colorizing hair is HELL.)

I got out of bed to do this and I have to be honest with myself.

I'm dropping Yousuke and Haseo. It was a great run with Yousuke—the Persona 4 cast was one of my favorite times in CFUD, but I kind of ran into a wall with him a few months ago. Haseo, I never got up and running with him, and just going to do this.

I think it's been a watershed kind of week. Earlier this week I made what was, for me, a really important locked post about some issues that I've been struggling with my whole life. Just being able to articulate and actually give voice to some of the feelings and fears and insecurities I'd had for so long, and the things I'd been dealing with ever since I moved out here, was kind of amazing. I have been really overwhelmed with processing all of that, and it's going to take me a while, but just being able to say it seems to have already made some kind of giant difference in my view of myself and how i fit into the world. Knock on wood, of course. But I can't go any longer without thanking everyone who responded to it. Thank you all so much. I needed the space to talk, and I needed to hear from you all, more than I can say.

The other amazing and crucial thing that happened to me (though i feel like there have been several this week) is the quote I linked in my Gaga post, from Heather Cassil's Out interview:

Also also yesterday I went sale-bin diving at this little plus-size vintage store, and got a red sweater I am sort of plotting to reduce to its component yarn, and also a bright pink t-shirt featuring a scribbly skull and crossbones and THIS BIKE IS A PIPE BOMB on it.
